Your advice that no parent should be judged for choosing what is appropriate for them and their baby is spot on. However, I differ on your premise that none of these choices have discernible effects in adulthood. This is because these choices are often correlated. For example, a parent who chooses to breastfeed because they have read about it’s health benefits may also have read about the ill effects of screentime. Plus, being a reader they may find it easier to read to their kids more often. Taken together, these three choices made by a parent may have a discernable influence on certain personality-traits of the child. In a nutshell, the choices made by a parent may not affect the child one-by-one but taken together, they form a parenting style , which influences a child’s development more than we realise.
