Well articulated! It is a thorny issue isn’t it? I am a mom of two, and I struggle to be the parent I want to be each and every day. Unfortunately, this role is not a natural fit but I do my best. If it helps, all I can say from my experience is nobody ever tells you the truth about how difficult parenting is, it is physically demanding and psychologically devastating. But if you decide to go for it, it is crucial to remind yourself constantly — this is the only way that you can ever feel unconditional love. That elusive quality of love just cannot happen in any other way or in any other relationship.
