So glad to see a candid, authentic take from a fellow traveler. Travel schooling my kids for a year has made me realise traveling outward into the world makes us travel inward as well because our external reality (in any country) is just a reflection of our internal state. And unless we face it, it will not change. Traveling out into the world is a method for putting everything aside in order to prioritise facing our reality squarely and if necessary, changing it. That is very difficult to do in a place where we have been living for long because over time, we shape it into too comfortable an environment that does not require facing up to our internal demons.
